Description:
This is my interpretation (inspiration) and I do not claim to be able to play this exactly 100% as John Bonham did but I hope I caught the overall feel of the song and I hope to inspire you as I have been inspired by his drumming for way over 30+ years. I am currently using 15 inch Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats vintage 1974, 2-18 inch Paiste 2002 cymbals 80s vintage, 20 inch Black label 2002 ride vintage 1978, 18 inch Sabian paragon (nice!) and stereo miking overhead. |

nickmollo ::: Favorites A Very good job with a hard drum pattern. Nice sound too. I have too say that Bonham is one of the greats because he has a style and sound that was epic yet accessible. No drummer since has recorded better rock drum patterns or achieved a more crisper and organic sound. That I feel is way he is so missed. 07-09-02 09:28:11 _____________________________________________________
mg4150 ::: Favorites Of course I am. I do not use the internal mic on the camcorder. The sound is horrible that way. 07-08-27 21:25:50 _____________________________________________________
jakamake ::: Favorites Are you useing mics on this recording? 07-08-27 20:31:56 _____________________________________________________
mg4150 ::: Favorites I do use mics. I just bought a new drum mic system and will have it on new videos that I'll post in the future. 07-08-26 20:38:37 _____________________________________________________

mg4150 ::: Favorites Yes, true! There is no "better" drummer, they are all just different and have a lot to offer. Some are faster and more complex and some are "heavier" and lay down the beat a little thicker. I appreciate all styles and I have the most fun imitating Bonzo! He did some great stuff and was very modest about it. 07-08-09 12:26:20 _____________________________________________________
d047 ::: Favorites I also appreciate the respectful way you cover, no need to bad mouth one drummer over another. Bonzo was alot like Hendrix, their real genius is not only how they played, but how they created their style. Imgine sitting w/ Plant, Page and Jones and your job is to come up with those incredibly complicated drum parts and then pull it off in the studio and on stage, and then confound drummers 35 years later! 07-08-09 11:00:37 _____________________________________________________
mg4150 ::: Favorites Thanks! I'll have to do that one someday. I love Mitch Mitchell's playing also. 07-08-09 10:42:44 _____________________________________________________ |
