SALTBURN STEAM 2007 - Part 1 11th August I paid what has become my annual visit to the fifteen inch gauge railway at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. This year the visiting locos were: - Bassett-Lowke class 30 Synolda built 1912 Bassett-Lowke only s/o Blacolvesley built 1909 Cannon 4-4-2 Sutton Belle built 1933 Also there was Neil Clayton of the Ripon Light Railway with his unique Channel Tunnel (1880) inspection coach, regauged from 4oo mm to 15 inch. ....born in Saltburn and spent my childhood fishing on the pier and trips on the miniature railway...one always had to scream when going through the corrugated iron tunnel....!

I was born there too and spent many a holiday with grandparents only remember one ride on the train when i was very little so nice to see it back. The paddling pool was great fun too.
