Description: Skip to 3:00 for the real action. A much better video. Was hoping to get the guy I met here on youtube online at the same time as me so we could do a group video to show you how amazing co-op play is. Still, this is a much better example of combat in HGL, as well as proof that the B.S. about the game running poorly or "looking terrible" is due to user stupidity or computer lameness. Painful, but true. I'm liking 3rd person better, if only because of the cool way my guy looks as he is firing. Maybe it's just me. |

BloodPigggy ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 19:55:46 Aside from all the complaints about the single player demo being boring, I actually enjoyed it very much, this could only mean that the game is 5000 times better (for me at least) considering how much people say the demo sucks. Can run the thing on low/med settings even on my hunk of crap while still looking decent which is saying a lot about the optimization. Your rig must be insane to handle it at these settings with FRAPS running as well. __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 20:01:14 A lot of people hating the game just haven't played the Beta yet. I've had 2 and 3 person parties going and the intensity of the shootouts is something I haven't felt since the original DOOM. Sadly, not many people seem willing to team up, or they hate marksmen. I'm very surprised how well it runs, considering. My texture/model details are set to high, I think I dialed the shadows down to medium to compensate. Keep in mind, my PC is two years old. __________________________________________________
BloodPigggy ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 20:11:41 Mine isn't very old, but it's one of those cheap work PCs. Although the demo didn't really get heated, I was entertained by the mechanics. When you were in that room with about 50 zombies coming from everywhere I was psyched for the game's release. I'm planning on picking this up on the day it comes out (Oct. 31st right?). Maybe we can team up online sometime if the game runs well enough while playing over the internet for me. __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 20:21:44 We'll get together somehow, I can promise you that. __________________________________________________
BloodPigggy ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 20:23:35 Alright good, looking forward to it. __________________________________________________
Hollabuck ::: Favorites 2007-10-25 17:41:28 I think the demo is sweet actually. Can't wait for the game ;) __________________________________________________

jdizzze1 ::: Favorites 2007-10-26 02:55:44 I enjoyed the demo, the beta keeps corrupting on download, but its gonna own __________________________________________________
Laurenan69 ::: Favorites 2007-10-26 06:31:44 Hello ! I really liked your marksman video . I wanted a marksman too but now i have doubts... because: doesnt this class gets boring soon ? I mean you have 2 skills or something.... ( if you really specc it to effectiveness)... when i take a look at an evoker or something... he has the whole bar filled with different skills... marksman always just shooting . What do you say about that class ? __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2007-10-26 06:47:36 I don't know, I never got bored and I'm about halfway to the maximum level. If you look closely, I am *not* limited to just two skills. Anyone who uses just two skills as a marksman is either a shitty player or just too stupid to learn how to play. My tactics usually include painting tough enemies with beacons to support the group (watch my videos) or sniping tough enemies to kill/soften them up before my group gets there. __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2007-10-26 06:49:14 Besides Snipe and Beacon, I also use Rapid fire as my main attack, since at very high levels with the right modded guns, it is not jsut a room cleaner but a boss destroyer. Add in Escape (another great skill I just now learned) as well as a few points spent in grenade and you do *not* have a boring two skill character. Also, "speccing to 10" is not recommended or needed in this game. Many skills work fine at 5 or even 1, and some grow with you as you level. __________________________________________________
biohazardzlw ::: Favorites 2007-10-31 20:54:29 I don't get bored playing my marksman ever...I've levelled him to 15 twice; once in the beta, and so far in game, and played one in demo as well lol. But anyway, you get more than 2 skills...im specced for sniping and i end up having 4 different grenades, my snipe skill, beacon (helps a LOT), and you can get an ability that allows you to stealth, and believe me, it can save you if you get in over your head :D __________________________________________________
boilerplate ::: Favorites 2007-10-31 22:44:39 Agreed. Maybe the idiots spouting anti-marksman nonsense will see both of our comments saying the same thing and understand that marksmen pwn all. __________________________________________________
PetersParty ::: Favorites 2007-11-01 10:47:44 yeah great vid and i think the marksman rocks! i want this game argh, but we have vacation so i cant get to the shop. (the first time in my life in which i hate vacation!!) __________________________________________________
GameGoatEh ::: Favorites 2007-11-02 12:32:58 Yeah, the two button thing is just a myth, with 3 different sets of weapons each with their own corresponding abilities (Sniper with snipe stance, mac's and beacons, ect.) and the fact that if you stop moving, you'll get smacked by the pwn-club, I don't see how people could, or do, get bored of playing a marksman. :D ..also, I was just wondering.. how were you keeping the camera on the side in 3rd person view while firing that sniper of yours? Is there a setting someplace? __________________________________________________ |
