Description: Liz Lira is based out of Los Angeles and she is considered one of the top female Salsa dancers in the world. This clip is from a performance in the Washington, DC area in May of 2005. Her partner here is Jose Valencia. I really like the way she hits musical accents and her body control is just phenomenal. She has her own unique style, which it's easy to see is influenced by training in ballet and jazz. I also like this clip because of the "funky" tinge to the Salsa music that is used. Salsa has alot of acrobatics and flashy moves - plus it is a performance and not social dancing. the whole thing is choreograph and puyt together to entertain the audience.
