Listen to You Can't Do That and I Call Your Name. I played with The Marvellettes and the only thing I noticed that I feel was better about The Beatles is they were a complete band. The Marvellettes, though great, needed musicians to play the music while they sang & writers to compose their songs, while at the same time The Beatles did it all. __________________________________________________

Please Mr. Postman was written by Georgia Dobbins, who was part of the group before they signed to Motown (her parents wouldn't sign the contract so she had to drop out. The Marvelettes second hit Playboy was co written by Gladys Horton. After the Marvelettes ended, Katherine Anderson Schaffner co wrote I Don't Want to Do Wrong by Gladys Knight and the Pips. __________________________________________________
